Vanessa Moore Hundley M.Ed.,LPC-S
Vanessa was a non-traditional college student, entering college at age 31. She was part of the first graduating class of Collin College earning an Associates Degree before moving to the University of North Texas to continue her studies as a Meadows Scholar in the College of Education. She earned a B.S. in Education from the University of North Texas with teaching fields in Special Education and Psychology. She went on to earn a M.Ed. in Secondary Education and a second M.Ed. in Counseling, both from the University of North Texas. In addition to her certifications as a teacher and school counselor, she holds licensure in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor.
Vanessa’s career in education spanned over twenty years and three Texas independent school districts. She has served in the Mesquite ISD as a middle school counselor; the Plano ISD as a teacher and counselor at the elementary, middle school and senior high school levels; and as a counselor at McKinney High School. She is a trained Practical Parent Educator and routinely presents to various groups on topics ranging from parenting high school students to childhood & adolescent grief issues. She is also a Certified Yoga Instructor
Vanessa is one of seven co-founders of the Journey of Hope Grief Support Center in Plano, TX ~ a non-profit organization that provides free group grief support to children, adolescents and their parents or adult caregivers as they learn to mourn the death of impending death of a loved one.
Vanessa’s practice focuses on providing supervision for Licensed Professional Counselor Interns; solution focused brief therapy; trauma sensitive yoga therapy and personal coaching. Please contact Vanessa directly for more information about these offerings.
